Nazir
Nazir is a form of Jewish expression that appear in Leviticus. Nazir is both a person and a pledged length of time. Here is a link to an essay by my teacher that spurred this piece of my own…
Nazir marks time by three choices:
Abstain from grapes and fermented things,
That which is steeped from juice and skins,
Both fresh and dried.
Manifest a holy time, and
Do not let sour become the enemy to the sweet,
Nor the sweet become cloy.
Do not let a razor touch your head.
Let holy time grow, yet stay tethered.
Do not approach a dead soul.
Encounter vitality, and emit a vibrant countenance.
